The Woman Behind The Blog
I stood on an open-sided, 6-inch ledge in southwest Norway, staring at a glacial rock suspended 3,228 feet above a fjord. Half the hikers ahead of me turned back in fear. My inner voice asked, “What the heck am I doing with my life?” Then, I took the step.
That terrifying, exhilarating moment on Kjeragbolten changed everything. I realized I was hooked on pushing my boundaries.
In retrospect, that step onto the boulder was a stark reminder that youth lives on the edge of our comfort zone. We are capable of so much more when we simply ignore our self doubts. Facing the unknown brings a certain tension and presence that keeps us young. To stay vibrant, let’s never stop choosing the steps that stretch us.
My name is Carol, a 60 year old mother of two accomplished daughters, and a soon-to-be grandmother. Born in Winnipeg, Canada, my journey has taken me through decade long stints in Toronto, New Jersey, Florida, NYC, and now to my current home base in beautiful Colorado. I am a former competitive runner, a yoga enthusiast, a gym rat, and a curious, adventure-seeking traveler (87 countries and counting).
This space is not simply a travel blog. It is a community for women my age (and older) who refuse to wind down. I’m here to document what it looks like to attempt to live life at maximum capacity, to inspire you to carve your own path, and challenge you to define your own limits. The best is always yet to come. Make the next chapter riveting, by taking that step.
So tell me: What’s your boulder?
"It's never too late to be what you might have been."
